Due to the pandemic, the takeaway service is currently closed and we apologise for any inconvenience. We will be open later this year hopefully and as soon as we have a reopening date we will let you know. Why should you keep reading when there are millions of other websites and blogs available online? Good question. Anju’s Kitchen isn’t just another food blog. Our only goal is helping you. Helping new vegans or those that need a little inspiration with our focus on teaching you to cook the easiest but tastiest plant-based meals. You’ll soon be rooting around in your kitchen cupboards to find new and adventurous meals. And yes, all from plants!
Who We Are
We are Sarah and Anju; and we are obsessed with flavour. Our mixture of Welsh heritage (Sarah) and Sri Lankan heritage (Anju), and Sarah’s obsession with sweets and treats means you’ll find a host of all kinds of foods on our website.
Cooking vegan is not as difficult as you’d think, which you’ll see from our recipes. Give them a go, you won’t be disappointed.
You don’t need to be from South Asia to enjoy or learn how to cook flavoursome food, trust me! I do have an advantage though, Anju knows how to use spices properly. But don’t worry, we’ll teach you how to use spices too! As Anju hails from the paradise island of Sri Lanka, many of our recipes have a Sri Lankan twist or inspired by Asian cooking. That goes for some of the sweet stuff too! You wait until you try our Sri Lankan easy to make and even easier to eat biscuit pudding!! But we’ll get to that.
Not Just Rabbit Food
A pair of adventurous cooks; we are always changing recipes or making new ones up from scratch. Our vegan lifestyle has completely changed our life and cooking style. People often think that eating vegan food is all rabbit food, chips or Quorn chicken nuggets. Not that there’s anything wrong with Quorn Chicken Nuggets. But plant-based food is so much more than that. When done properly, plant-based cooking is versatile and adventurous. All you need is a little imagination or inspiration to cook up a storm in the kitchen. The possibilities are endless! Put the frozen pizza back in the freezer and get cooking as we show you how to make everyday vegan meals with little effort, for you and your family. .
Healthy, plant-based foods soak up herbs and spices incredibly well, are full of nutrition and leave you fuller for longer than fatty, nutrition lacking foods. But don’t worry, we’ll throw some naughty recipes into the mix too. Everyone’s entitled to a treat, right?!
