Thirst-Quenching Watermelon Juice

It feels like cheating to call this a recipe as it’s so ridiculously easy to make! A recipe probably needs to have more than one ingredient to be called a recipe, but we can stretch the term on this one occasion. Can’t we? This watermelon juice is just too good not to share. A hot summer’s day is made all the more bearable by this refreshing, naturally sweet, fruit juice.

Great for Summer Days

The refreshing, cooling taste of this watermelon juice makes it a perfect fit for summer; cooling you down on a hot day. Watermelon has a high water content; so it’s great to hydrate you. You shouldn’t need to add any water. When you blend the watermelon, it will be so smooth and juicy.

Healthy and Sugar Free

This watermelon juice is:

  • Super healthy and fresh.
  • Naturally sweet, so you can leave out all that nasty refined sugar.
  • So easy to make that you’ll have it ready in minutes and drink it even quicker!
  • Full of nutrients like vitamin C & A and is a firm favourite in the paradise island of Sri Lanka, where my mother-in-law first made this for me. This drink made the humidity and heat somewhat bearable!

We can’t forget our diabetic friends. As this fresh juice contains no artificial or added sweetener and only natural sugars; this is a perfect drink for any diabetics.

This serves 2 but if you need to make more you can just use more Watermelon. Could it be any simpler?

Look out for the printer icon just above the recipe (but please think of the planet and only print if necessary).

Now the weather’s warming up why don’t you dust off your blender and give this fresh juice a try.

1 small watermelon or half a large watermelon

1

Simply chop up or scoop the flesh out of the watermelon.

2

Blitz well in a blender until smooth and liquid.

3

Sieve the juice into a jug using a fine sieve or cheesecloth.
It’s way too much of a faff to remove all the seeds when chopping up the watermelon, so it’s much easier to remove any bits this way.

You shouldn't need any water or extra sugar in this watermelon juice recipe as Watermelon has a high water content and is quite sweet already, but you can go ahead and add a little sweetener or water if needed.
